1. Who this notice covers

This notice explains how SOKAN Africa (“SOKAN”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information collected through this website, linked Google Forms, direct communications and our relationship-management systems.

Contact: privacy questions can be sent to info@sokanafrica.com.

2. Information we may collect

Depending on how you engage with SOKAN, we may collect contact details, company and role information, buyer requirements, supplier capabilities, product and commercial information, verification evidence, partnership information, experience/travel interest, and records of communications and introductions.

Please do not send passwords, full payment-card details or unnecessary banking credentials through our website forms.

3. Why we use the information

We use personal information to operate the SOKAN network, understand who you are and what you need, assess commercial fit, qualify and verify opportunities, make relevant introductions, communicate with you, plan SOKAN Experiences, maintain records and protect the integrity of the network.

4. Service providers and sharing

We use third-party tools to operate efficiently. These may include Google Workspace products such as Google Forms, Sheets and Drive, relationship-management tools such as Airtable, and website services such as Google Fonts. Those providers may process standard technical information under their own privacy arrangements.

We may share relevant information with a buyer, supplier, operator, verification partner, logistics partner, professional adviser or other counterparty where this is reasonably necessary for the opportunity you asked us to explore. We aim to share only what is relevant and appropriate.

We do not sell personal information to advertisers.

5. International processing

SOKAN works across countries and uses service providers that may process data in different locations. Where data protection law requires safeguards for international transfers, we rely on safeguards available through our providers and applicable contracts.

6. How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, relationship history, safety, dispute handling, legal obligations and documented learning. We may delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed.

7. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to correct inaccurate information or stop non-essential marketing communications. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may also have rights to access, deletion, restriction, objection, portability or withdrawal of consent.

8. Cookies and technical data

This build does not intentionally use advertising or behavioural analytics cookies. Hosting providers and external services you open, including Google Forms and Google Fonts, may receive standard technical request data such as IP address, browser and device information under their own policies.

9. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as SOKAN’s systems, services or legal responsibilities change. The latest version should be published on this page.
